Title:
MICACEOUS IRON OXIDE HAVING METALLIC FILM AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6131318
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce easily titled micaseous iron oxide which is useful for a conductive material, catalytic material, electronic material, etc. by subjecting the surface of reduction type micaceous iron oxide to electroless plating of Ni, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The micaceous iron oxide (about 10W100μ flake diameter, about 10W40 average aspect ratio and about ≥80% Fe2O3 content) is subjected to a heating treatment in gaseous hydrogen flow to form the reduction type micacaous iron oxide expressed by the formula (x is 0W1.5). The above-mentioned reduction type iron oxide is then dipped in an Ni electroless plating liquid and is thus treated to form an Ni metallic film on the surface thereof. Cu, Pt, Au, Cr and Pd are usable in addition to Ni for the metal to constitute the above-mentioned film.
