PURPOSE: To improve a thermal stamp so that it is capable of recording patterns of different colors and density without making its drive circuit complicated by such an arrangement wherein in each recording zone of the thermal stamp, the interval between electrodes of its interdigital electrode is varied in accordance with the position of each recording zone.
CONSTITUTION: An interval d1 between adjoining electrodes of an inter-digital electrode 2 at No.1 recording zone 11 is wider than an interval d2 between electrodes of an interdigital electrode at No.2 recording zone 12, and the voltage of a power source 7 is applied to interdigital electrodes 2, 3 through power source input terminals 6a, 6b, the amount of heat to be generated per unit area by the electrode 3 becomes larger, therefore the temperature of heat generated by a heat generating resistor 5 becomes higher than that of a heat generating resistor 4. Consequently, records of different colors (or density) can be obtained in the recording zones 11, 12 by using such heat sensitive recording elements which form different colors changing in accordance with the temperatures.
