PURPOSE: To execute exactly recording and reproducing, by making a pressure device of a magnetic disk of the lower side stronger than that of the upper side by pressure force to which the empty weight of the magnetic disk is added, in a magnetic disk device for driving two pieces of upper and lower magnetic disks.
CONSTITUTION: Spindles 3, 4 are provided through a bearing 2 of a frame 1, and the shafts of the spindles 3, 4 are formed in one body. A rotor 5 of a direct drive motor formed in one body with the spindle 4 is placed opposingly to a printed substrate 6, and a projecting part 7 of the frame serves for determining a reference of upper and lower magnetic disks 8, too. On the other hand, a head load arm 9 is turned by a solenoid, etc., a cushion material 10 consisting of a sponge, etc. is fixed to its tip, and a torsion coil spring 11 puts pressure force on the arm 9. Two head load arms 9 and cusion materials 10 are provided on the lower part, and press from the lower side so as to cover the empty weight of a magnetic disk positioned at the lower side. Therefore, a vertical motion in case of driving the magnetic disk can be absorbed exactly, the magnetic head contacts with the magnetic disk in a good condition, and information can be recorded and reproduced exactly.
