PURPOSE: To prevent the breakage of a compressor by a method wherein a wire material is mounted between a base plate and a compressor fixing section and in this case, the wire material is made to have a length sufficient for it to be urged to compress a coiled resilient support so that the compressor is fixed securely and any impact applied upon the compressor due to falling or the like is absorbed.

CONSTITUTION: The wire material 15 having the length sufficient for it to be urged to compress a resilient support 8 is passed through throughholes 14a, 14b and throughholes 9-1, 10-1 of washers 9, 10 and the ends of the wire material are connected to the base plate and the compressor fixing section, respectively, in a compressed condition. In case where the air conditioner is transported, the legs 5a of the compressor 5 are thrusted against the base plate 1 and in the event strong impact is applied upon the compressor 5 due to falling, the wire material 15 deforms itself resiliently to expand or cut to thereby protect the compressor 5 against the impact. Further, in case where the air conditioner is installed, it is possible to unfix the compressor easily by cutting the wire material 15.
