Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the durability of a diaphragm which seal up a reservoir in a sealed type hydraulic lifter, by disposing a compressive resilient member whose volume may be easily varied, in the chamber of the reservoir. CONSTITUTION:A plunger 12 is slidably disposed in a lifter body 11 so that a reservoir 14 and a pressure chamber 15 are defined therein. Further, a reservoir 14 is sealed up by means of a diaphragm 22, and a check valve 17 is disposed between the reservoir 14 and the pressure chamber 15. A compressive resilient member 27 whose volume may be easily varied, is disposed in hydraulic oil in the reservoir 14 to absorb variations in the volume of hydraulic oil. Even if the operation of the check valve 17 cannot follow up variations in a high speed operating condition so that the amount of hydraulic oil varies greatly, the resilient member 27 absorbs variations in the amount of hydraulic oil so that the amount of variation of the diaphragm 22 may be made less, thereby the durability of the diaphragm 22 may be enhanced.
