Title:
STAINLESS STEEL AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5913055
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a martensitic Cr stainless steel with superior temper softening resistance at high temp., by reducing the amounts of alloying elements to be added to a steel and by restricting conditions during quenching or normalizing.

CONSTITUTION: A steel consisting of, by weight, 0.10W0.40% C, ≤1.0% Si, 0.1W 1.0% Mn, ≤1.0% Ni, 11.0W16.0% Cr, 0.01W0.10% V, ≤0.050% Ti, ≤0.10% Al and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities or further contg. one or more among 0.02W0.15% Mo, 0.005W0.050% Nb and ≤0.5% Cu and satisfying Ti(%)- 3.5×N+0.007≥0 and 25×C-Cr-Ti+9.5≥0 is refined, quenched or normalized from 925W1,100°C, and tempered at 650°CW the Ac1 point. By this method a stainless steel with strength, toughness and corrosion resistance is obtd. inexpensively.
