Abstract:
A fuel injection nozzle contains a valve element, which is preloaded in contact with a seat by means of a spring (18). Fuel under pressure from an inlet (14) acts on the valve element and lifts this against the action of the spring, as a result of which fuel flows through an outlet (16). If the valve element is to be closed, the force exerted by the spring can be briefly increased by a cam (23) driven by the internal combustion engine, which cam acts on a cam follower (22).
