Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the degree of toe-in especially at the time of braking operation in order to improve the running stability by attaching a supporting bush of the car body side of a lower arm as it can move in the direction of the front and the rear of the car body and moving the bush to the direction of the front of the car body in the time of braking operation. CONSTITUTION:Because the oil pressure of a master cylinder 14 does not act on an oil cylinder 12 during normal running operation, a supporting bush 5 of the car body side of a lower arm 4 is positioned in the basic position with force of a spring 11. Because the driving force acts on a front wheel 2 in the forward direction in this time, a steering knuckle 1 aways in the forward direction, each one of joints 3, 6 of the lower arm 4 and a tie rod 7 is moved along each locus A, B to outside and inside respectively. As the result of this movement, the front wheel 2 becomes inclined to toe out. On the other hand, in the time of braking operation the oil pressure of the master cylinder 14 acts on the oil cylinder 12 and the backward braking force acts on the front wheel 2. As the result, the bush 5 moves forward and the front wheel 2 becomes inclined to toe-in.
