To provide toner which does not cause scattering of the toner or base fog even in a high temperature and high humidity environment, which produces high image density and high resolution and in particular, a sharp image without having image blur, out-of-focus state or black stripes, and which has high durability without causing filming on a photoreceptor or a developing roller.
The toner is an electrophotographic single component toner formed into a thin layer on the surface of a developing roller by pressing a regulating member for the toner layer thickness. The binder resin component constituting the toner contains a specified azo metal complex compound containing a titanium atom or a silicon atom by 0.5 to 5.0 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the binder resin and further contains silicon oxide having 90 to 240 m2/g specific surface area.
