To provide a transfer controller capable of highly accurately stopping a transfer belt by detecting a moving distance of the transfer belt without directly detecting the rotation of a transfer motor by a rotary encoder.
A linear scale 41 and an encoder sensor 7, which is capable of reading the amount of movement of the transfer belt 4, are mounted to the back of the transfer belt 4. An output signal from the encoder sensor 7 is transmitted to an LD current deciding part 61 of a control part 6. The number of pulses measured with the LD current deciding part 61 is analyzed. A current value (the magnitude of an input current) supplied to an LD is decided. By this, the analysis result can be fed back to an output signal of a drive motor by the LD, which can output an output signal corresponding to an ultra-minute moving distance of the transfer belt 4, and a PD capable of accurately receiving the output signal from the LD.
