To reduce the weight and size of a carrying traveling body by fixing a bridge rail piece on the end part of a support rail, in such a manner as to be capable of rising, falling and rotating, and providing a rising and falling driving means for raising and bringing down the bridge rail piece, and a transfer means for mutually delivering a carrier with wheel with a housing shelf.
When a carrying traveling body 1 is operated with a carrier 4 being put on a support rail 10, both bridge frame rail pieces 6, 6 are set to vertically raised states. Thus, both the bridge frame rail pieces 6, 6 form stoppers raised on both ends of the support rail 10. On the other hand, when the carrier 4 is transferred from the carrying traveling body to a housing shelf, the bridge frame rail piece on the transferring side is brought down by turning, and laid into horizontal state, whereby the bridge part 6a of the bridge frame rail piece 6 is fitted to the engagement part 31a of the support rail 31 on the housing shelf side, whereby both the support rails 10, 31 are mutually connected. Consequently, the mechanism and structure are extremely simplified, and the carrying traveling body can be reduced in weight and size, compared with a conventional one.
