PURPOSE: To provide a transfer device of relatively simple structure, which does not need large installation space, and the maintenance of which is easily carried out.

CONSTITUTION: An upper arm 5 and a lower arm 6 of preliminarily set length are mounted on an upper shaft 3 and a lower shaft 4 separated from one another at a predetermined distance vertically and horizontally above a horizontal frame 2, on which a plate material 1 to be carried is loaded almost horizontally, so that the arms can be rotated. The lower arm 6 is actively driven by external power, while a link 7 of preliminarily set length is connected to the front ends through the upper arm 5 and the lower arm 6, and a transfer bracket 9 provided with a holding tool 8 for attaching and detaching the plate material 1 to be carried, is mounted on a part extended from the lower arm 6 of the link 7 so that the bracket is moved between the horizontal position and the vertical position by rotation of the upper arm 5 and the lower arm 6, and a transfer device 10 is thus formed.
