Title:
TRANSFER MEDIUM AND INK JET RECORDING DEVICE USING THE MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06166177
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To realize a high quality image by maintaining the reliability of an ink jet head of a transfer-type ink jet recording device.

CONSTITUTION: A transfer drum 1 contains a heater lamp 4 and allows an ink image to be formed on the surface layer 12 using a recording head 2. This ink image is transferred under pressure to a recording sheet 5 using a transfer roller 3. The transfer drum 1 has blackened heat radiation inner and outer surfaces which radiate heat satisfactorily, so that if the transfer drum 1 is heated to a high temperature level, it dissipates heat rapidly and cools down when not heated. Consequently, the transfer drum 1 does not become hot beyond a necessary level and does not stay for a long time in a hot condition. Thus it is possible to minimize the drying of ink in the interior of an adjacent recording head 2 or on the nozzle surface thereof, and eliminate a plugging phenomenon with the resultant improvement of reliability.
