Abstract:
To obtain a translucent ytterbium oxide sintered compact, wherein the linear transmittance in visible wavelength ranging from 400 nm to 800 nm is ≥60% when the thickness is 1 mm without controlling aluminum content to 5-100 wt.ppm expressed in terms of metal and silicon content to ≤10 wt.ppm expressed in terms of metal.
The translucent ytterbium oxide sintered compact consists mainly of ytterbium oxide and contains niobium, wherein the linear transmittance in visible wavelength ranging from 400 nm to 800 nm is ≥60% when the thickness is 1 mm.
