Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable hand operation as well to be performed according to a driver's will, by a method wherein, in a device which effects automatic speed shifting control of a car according to a given pattern, a shift position is renewed according to an instruction signal. CONSTITUTION:During normal running in a position D of a range selector 5 after an automatic gear shifting switch 12 is closed, a control circuit 16 incorporating a microcomputer, performs calculation of a shift position based on a car speed, the load amount of an engine, and a gear shifting control pattern, and a lamp corresponding to a calculating shift position, among an AUTO lamp 14 and indicating lamps 13-1 to 13-4 is lighted ON, and solenoids 3-1-3-2 select the position of an automatic transmission gear 2 by means of the corresponding pattern. With an up-instruction switch 10 operated, a solenoid control signal, moving-up a shift position by one speed step, is outputted to light ON a MAN lamp 15 and light OFF the AUTO lamp 14, the automatic transmission gear 2 selects a shifting position, and the corresponding display lamp lights ON. Also the case of shifting-down, one speed step is moved down in the same manner by a down-instruction switch 11.
