Title:
TRANSMISSION METHOD FOR PLURAL VARIABLE RATE SIGNALS AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3573171
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decode a video signal without the use of a frame synchronizer by dividing a high definition video signal by one pattern, applying variable length coding and multiplexing the result, allowing a decoder side to decode the signal with synchronization expansion.
SOLUTION: An A/D converter 1 converts an analog HD video signal into a digital HD data, which are given to a division processing section 2 to obtain 1/4 split data H1-4 in the unit of data by one pattern. Furthermore, they are synchronized and the result is outputted to a coder section 4, in which the data are subjected to compression variable length coding under the control of information quantity compression sections CMP1-4, a variable length coding section EP1, a bit rate allocation and multiplex control section 43 and a multiplex timing signal generating section 44 with the same algorithm and configuration. Then a variable length bit signal to be multiplexed by a constant rate buffer 42 is read at a constant rate and sent to a decoder through a transmission line 10. Thus, the decoder side attain variable length coding, decoding and expansion decoding easily to decode the data into original one-pattern video data.
