This transparent cosmetic material for body comprises (A) 0.001-2 wt.% of (A) a carboxyvinyl polymer, 30-55 wt.% of a lower alcohol, 0.05-1 wt.% of (C) 1-mental, 0.1-1 wt.% of (D) a polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil, an alkali agent and (F) water. When (b) is a wt.% value of the ingredient B, (c) is a wt.% value of the ingredient C and (d) is a wt.% of the polyoxyethylene part in the ingredient D, the value of the formula: (50 d/c)+4b is in the range of 220-240.
