PURPOSE: To obtain a transparent touch input device that has high chemical/ mechanical strength, reduced scratches and expansion/contraction due to temperature changes, by using a thin glass which bends partially under pressure to obtain a base material for a transparent conduction layer on the input side to be touched on by a finger.
CONSTITUTION: A thin glass plate 1 uses a transparent thin plate glass having 0.2W0.3mm thickness. A spacer 3 uses the transparent silicone rubber. Both electrodes 2 and 5 have such thickness that secures a touch with the small bending value of the plate 1. While a thick glass plate 4 uses the 2W3mm transparent glass that gives no effect of bend to a display device despite the finger press. Thus it is possible to obtain a transparent touch input device which has high resistance to the chemical characteristics as well as to the blade scratches and the reduced expansion/contraction due to temperature changes.
