To provide a transport apparatus, capable of travelling without requiring an overhead wire along a rail and an electric power therefrom, for surely transporting a person or baggage.

The transport apparatus includes a plurality of stations, a track 2 connecting the stations in series, and a vehicle 1 on which a drive motor 10 is mounted for travelling on the track 2. An overhead wire for applying power to the vehicle 1 from the track 2 side is omitted, and an electrical energy accumulating device 11 for supplying power to the drive motor 10 is mounted on the vehicle 1. Furthermore, a track-side vehicle propelling means 20 is provided at such an arrival-side track part before the station, where the residual energy of the electrical energy accumulating device 11 may run short.
