To facilitate decontamination of a carbon fiber reinforced resin (CFRP) material, to eliminate the discharge of waste water, to reduce the volume of the CFRP, to recover a nuclear fuel material, or a deposit, by metal or oxide, and reuse it.
In this method for removing and recovering uranium or transuranic element from the CFRP material with nuclear fuel materials stuck thereto from nuclear fuel handling facilities, the contaminated CFRP 1 is reduced in a reduction process 5 and the reduced tetrafluoride CFRP material 6 is electrolyzed in an electrolysis process 7. In the electrolysis process 7, an organic substance dipped in molten salt and comprising CFRP is decomposed, the electrolysis is performed using a carbon fiber comprising the CFRP as a positive electrode in the molten salt to deposite and recovere the metallic uranium or the transuranic element metal 10 in the negative electrode.
