Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment agent liquid-applying device that prevents slack in a recorded medium in deceleration printing, while preventing both slack in the recorded medium and wear of an application roller during constant-speed printing.SOLUTION: A treatment agent liquid-applying device comprises: a switching circuit 76 that sets a first command speed for giving a command such that a command speed for an application roller is (99%) of a transport detection speed and a second command speed for giving a command such that it is at a speed ratio (80%), which is slower than the first command speed, the circuit 76 being switchable between the first and second command speeds; and a counter 71 and comparison circuit 74 for detecting a change in paper sheet transport speed in a printer. For constant-speed printing, the application roller is rotated and driven at the first command speed. When deceleration of paper sheet transport speed in the printer is detected, the command speed for the application speed is switched from the first command speed to the second command speed, and deceleration printing is carried out.
