Abstract:

To provide a treatment method and an apparatus capable of oxidizing and decomposing hardly decomposable substances existing in fly ashes in a high efficiency for a short time.

The treatment apparatus of hardly decomposable substances is for oxidizing and decomposing hardy decomposable substances contained in solid matter 22 such as fly ashes discharged out of an incinerator and comprises a mixing tank 12 for mixing the solid matter 22 with water and producing a slurry and a decomposition tank 14 where the hardly decomposable substances contained in the slurry are oxidized and decomposed in the presence of hydroxy radicals by intensely stirring the slurry, and the decomposition tank 14 is provided with a pulverization means for pulverizing the solid matter, a plurality of catalyst-bearing beads 31 that carry a photocatalyst or have photocatalytic function by themselves and are fluidized by contact with the slurry, and a UV lamp 30 disposed in a position where UV rays are radiated to the catalyst-bearing beads 31 and the hydroxy radical is generated by the catalyst-bearing beads 31 and the UV lamp 30.
