Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the adhesion of plating in the subsequent plating treatment by treating a zinc-aluminum alloy by a weak alkali soln. and thereafter treating it by a strong alkali soln.

CONSTITUTION: In pretreatment at the time of plating a zincaluminum alloy, in a primary stage, this alloy is treated by a weak alkali soln. of ≤pH13, and the part rich in aluminum in the allay is etched. Next, the allay is treated with a strong alkali soln. of ≥pH13, and zinc and aluminum are simultaneously etched to obtain an active state on the surface of the allay. As a result, smuts are not generated, and the adhesion in the subsequent plating treatment can be improved.
