To provide a treating method by which a calcium component and a lead component can be sorted and recovered from fine powder containing the calcium component and the lead component by a small number of processes and chemicals and by a simple operation.
The treating method of this invention comprises (A) a process of blending the fine powder containing the calcium component and the lead component with water and sulfuric acid to adjust liquid pH between 1 and 4 and to obtain slurry containing solid calcium sulfate, (B) a process of adding a sulfurizing agent (sodium hydrosulfide) to the slurry obtained in the process (A) to obtain the slurry containing solid calcium sulfate and solid lead sulfide, and (C) a process of adding a collector (xanthate) and a foaming agent (methyl isobutyl carbinol) to the slurry obtained in the process (B) and performing ore floatation to obtain a floating ore composed essentially of lead sulfide and a sediment ore composed essentially of calcium sulfate.
