Abstract:

To provide a method for easily performing a treatment of a heavy fraction, i.e., a product of a hydrogenolysis reaction.

In the treatment method for a plastic having a dissolution step capable of obtaining a plastic solution by heating and mixing the plastic and a solvent, a hydrogenolysis step for performing the hydrogenolysis reaction by reacting the plastic solution obtained in the dissolution step with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst, and a distilling step for separating and recovering the reaction product by distilling the hydrogenolysis reaction product produced in the hydrogenolysis step, at least a part of the heavy fraction obtained in the distilling step is returned to the dissolution step.
