To provide a tripod assisting an AF function of a loaded camera and having a light emitting part used as an auxiliary light source corresponding to the aim of photographing.
A front surface of a camera platform 12 is provided with a light emitting part 14, and the light emitting part having a guide number larger than that of an internal electric flash 32 of a camera 30 is loaded. A contact 20 is mounted on a top surface of the camera platform 12 to be connected to a terminal part 50 at a camera 30 side in loading the camera 40, and to transmit and receive a release signal and the other information with the camera 30. When an AF circuit of the camera 30 cannot focus, an AF auxiliary circuit of the tripod 10 is operated, and a pre-emission circuit is operated. The pre-emission irradiating an object is detected by an AF sensor, and transmitted to the camera 30 side as a distance information, whereby the AF circuit at the camera 30 side drives a lens 36 for focusing.
