Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a roller supporting member from rotating to the outside of the allowable extent by furnishing a columnar stopper for defining the tilting limit of the roller supporting member on the rotational locus of the supporting member at, at least, one of the two coupling members which support the roller supporting member.
CONSTITUTION: A troidal continuously variable transmission includes the first and the second roller 45a, 45b which transmit the torque of an input disc loosely fitted on the input shaft to an output disc fixed to the output shaft, and therewith the gear ratio is changed within a certain range by changing the inclining angles of the rollers 45a, 45b, wherein these rollers are borne by the first and the second roller supporting member 59a,59b coupled together through an upper and a lower coupling member 62, 63. To the oversurface of the lower coupling member 63, several columnar stopper members 100f are attached using bolt 101 in order to prevent the members 59a, 59b from rotating in excess of the normal specified service range. This enables simple and precise installation of the stopper members 100f.
