Abstract:
PURPOSE: To certainly diagnose the trouble of the lighting circuit of the indicator lamp provided to a combination meter or the trouble of an auxiliary engine itself corresponding thereto without depending on visual observation.
CONSTITUTION: The image of a combination meter C is taken by a CCD camera 1 and the obtained image data is compared with the lighting schedule preliminarily stored in a microcomputer 8 to perform the diagnosis of trouble. When an indicator lamp 15 lights for a time T1 after an ignition switch is turned ON and does not put out lights, it is diagnosed that there is trouble in the lighting circuit of the indicator lamp 15. When the indicator lamp 15 putting out lights within a time T2 lights again, it is judged that trouble is discovered in the auxiliary engine itself corresponding to the indicator lamp 15 by a self-diagnosis circuit. The diagnostic result is transmitted to a host computer 8 to be recorded and controlled.
