PURPOSE: To make it possible to precisely stop a turret, by providing a dog and a sensor for. detecting the rotational speed of the turret driven by an inverter control system so that the rotational speed is lowered, and by braking the turret at a position where the sensor detects the dog.
CONSTITUTION: A dog 10 for detecting rotational speed is secured to the lower surface of a turret 1. and a sensor 12 is provided to a stationary wall 11 at the outer periphery of the turret 1, being associated with the dog 10. In order to stop the turret 1, the rotational speed of the turret 1 is detected by the dog 10 and the sensor 12 while a motor 3 is retarded within a range controlled by an inverter. Further, the detection of the rotational speed is held even during free running, and therefor, braking may be made at a suitable time at which the rotational speed comes down to a value that is suitable for braking and the dog 10 passes through a position just before the sensor 12. With this arrangement, the turret 1 may be stopped precisely at a predetermined position, and therefore, it is possible to contribute to enhance the available factor of a barrel polishing device.
