To provide a twin roll type continuous casting apparatus which can suppress bulging generated in a slab.

The twin roll type continuous casting apparatus is provided with: a fixed roll 1 rotating at a fixed position; a moving roll 2 moving to a direction approaching or separating to the fixed roll 1 and rotating to a direction reverse to the fixed roll; and side weirs 4 installed at both the edge parts in the axial direction of the fixed roll 1 and the moving roll 2, and holding molten metal, wherein a slab 6 is cast in a state where unsolidified part remains at the inside. At least one wedge-shaped support block 7, 8 pressing the slab 6 and at least one support block driving mechanism 9 or an elastic pressing means moving the support block 7 installed in the side of the moving roll 2 to the thickness direction of the slab 6 and pressing the slab 6 by the support block 7 are provided on the part directly below the minimum gap between the fixed roll 1 and the moving roll 2.
