Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent solidified shell from melting with molten steel flow by arranging diagonal holes to longitudinal direction of cooling roll toward center of interval between both cooling rolls in order to introduce the molten steel in a tundish into the molten steel pool. CONSTITUTION:In order to remelt the semi-solidified particles generating at upper part of solidified shell kissing point in the molten steel pool 3, the high temp. molten steel 5 is poured from the tundish 4. The molten steel 5 is flowed into the pool 3 from inclining direction through vertical hole 9 and diagonal holes 8 arranged in a core 7. Then, the semi-solidified particles in the pool 3 is effectively melted and does not reach to the solidified shell between both rolls 1. Therefore, the solidified shell is prevented from melting with the poured molten steel 5. Further, as the molten steel introduced into the pool 3 from the tundish 4 through the diagonal holes 10 vertical grooves 11 and horizontal grooves 12 melts the solidified shell developing near the boundary part of the roll 1 and side weir 2, bad effect caused by, that is, triple point, can be prevented and further, the sticking of the solidified shell to the side weir 2 can be prevented.
