To provide a two-dimensional optical scanner which does not enlarge the device and is not difficult to be manufactured.
A two-dimensional optical scanner is composed of a movable portion 10 composed of a metallic structure 11 formed with a mirror 11a which can rock about a first axis and a piezoelectric element 12 attached to the structure 11, and scanning light reflected by the mirror 11a about the first axis a; and a rocking drive portion 20 scanning the light reflected by the mirror 11a about a second axis b, by rocking the movable portion 10 about the second axis by the interaction between a current flowing in a plane coil 23 and a magnetic field generated by a magnetic field generating portion 24. A distance between the magnetic field generating portion 24 and the structure 11 is set to be larger than a distance between the magnetic field generating portion 24 and the plane coil 23.
