PURPOSE: To enable the operator of a plant to easily understand supporting contents against a judgment and decision and, at the same time, to reduce the burden of the operator, by continuously judging the state of the plant and deciding the cause of and countermeasure against abnormality, and then, graphically displaying the supporting contents.
CONSTITUTION: A monitoring module 120 reads on-line data from a data base module 240 and evaluates the level of the on-line data, etc., by referring to a prescribed reference value for evaluation kept in a knowledge base module 260. Namely, the module 120 infers the possibility of abnormality by monitoring the operated state of a plant. The module 120 displays 310 the inferred results and, at the same time, sends the results to a judging section 159. When the section 159 recognizes the existence of abnormality, an abnormality countermeasure module 160 decides the cause of and a countermeasure against the abnormality based on data from the module 240, CRT 310, etc., by referring to the module 260. The cause and countermeasure are displayed 310 as guidance and, at the same time, the degree of confidence regarding the trouble is graphically displayed. Therefore, even an inexperienced operator can easily judge the sign and following changing trend of the abnormality, because the operator can visually recognize the sign and trend.
