Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a word of correct spelling from a word which contains a spelling error.
CONSTITUTION: A partial character-string of a word inputted by a word input means 1 is extracted by a partial character-string extracting means 2 and stored in a partial character-string storage means 3. By a word candidate retrieving means 5, a partial character-string/word table is retrieved by the partial character-string extracting means 2, and the word group concerned is obtained. A candidate storage means 6 stores the number of times of matching between the group retrieved by the word candidate retrieving means 5 and the partial character-string in the partial character-string group. A word candidate selecting means 8 selects a word candidate being close an input word in the candidate storage means 6, and by a selected word output means 9, a selected word candidate is outputted. By such a constitution, a candidate being close the input word can be extracted easily and at a high speed.
