Abstract:
PURPOSE: To offer an improved actuation mechanism which is assembled in good order especially to a 'High Leg' reclining chair. CONSTITUTION: An actuation mechanism 12 has a swing linkage 46 in order to match an elongation action of a legrest assembly 38 according to a reclining action of a seat assembly 22 against a chair frame 14. An over center bias mechanism 146 is installed in order to assist an elongation and a withdrawal of the legrest assembly 38. Further, the actuation mechanism 12 also has a tilt linkage to accommodate an independent tilt of the seat assembly subsequent to the elongation of the legrest assembly. The actuation mechanism has a mechanical stopping device installed in order to positively determine the limit of the withdrawal and elongation actions of the legrest assembly which together with the over center bias mechanism, controls undesirable hanging of the legrest assembly.
