PURPOSE: To immediately inform an inspector of pain when a subject to be examined feels pain by pushing an ultrasonic probe on the subject to be examined.
CONSTITUTION: An inspector applys a jelly on the skin of a subject to be examined and pushes an ultrasonic probe 1 thereon to make ultrasonic waves to be irradiated toward the subject to be examined. The ultrasonic waves reflected in the body of the subject to be examined are converted to electric signals in the ultrasonic probe 1 and are input into a transmitting and receiving circuit 2. The transmitting and receiving circuit 2 amplifies the received signals by a preset sensitivity by means of a key board 6 and they are input into an image processing circuit 3 and are converted to video signals and are displayed on a monitor 4. On the other hand, an operational member 7 pushed when the subject to be examined feels a pain by pushing the ultrasonic probe 1 is provided and when pushing this operational member 7 is recognized by a CPU 5, a mark M indicating that the subject to be examined feels the pain is displayed on the monitor 4 and the inspector can grasp the condition of pain of the subject to be examined without observing the expression of the subject to be examined.
