To enable the synchronizing of a circumferential diagnosis image of a living being by arranging an internal probe and an external probe for a human body to give or take signals therebetween to accomplish accurate and clear recognition of the position of the probe in vivo without use of X rays.
An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus has an ultrasonic element 13 for positional detection at both ends in the longitudinal direction thereof and an internal probe 10 for a human body having an ultrasonic element 12 for fetching a plurality of images arranged therebetween. Furthermore, an external probe 11 for the human body is provided having an ultrasonic element 14 for receiving signals. The ultrasonic element 14 for receiving signals is supported by a belt-shaped support body 15 wound on the trunk of the human body. A connector 16 is mounted on the belt support 15 and connected to a signal processor 31. A position detection signal of the ultrasonic element 13 for positional detection of the internal probe 10 and an image signal of the ultrasonic element 12 for fetching the image are received by the ultrasonic element 14 for receiving signals and processed by the signal processor 31 to be shown on a display device 32. Thus, the position image of the internal probe 10 and a diagnosis image are obtained without using X rays.
