The ultrasonic operation apparatus comprises an ultrasonic emulsification means for applying ultrasonic vibrations to an ultrasonic tip and crushing/emulsifying an intraocular tissue, a suction means for sucking the emulsified intraocular tissue, a detection means for detecting the closed state of the ultrasonic tip, and a foot switch with a foot pedal for outputting a signal according to the operation position of the foot pedal.
