Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a multiple element type probe that forms plural piezo-electric vibrators that can operate independently by providing electrodes separately in stripelike form or multiple annular form.

CONSTITUTION: Multiple columnar vibrators form oblong electrodes 203, 204 by means of vapor deposition or screen printing on a composite piezo-electric material 202 having an electrode 201. A lead wire is connected to the electrodes 203, 204, and electric signals are applied. At this time, electrodes 203, 204 are not formed perfectly on marginal columnar vibrators 205, 206, etc. However, owing to the existing electrodes such as the electrode 201, vibrators 205, 206 make imperfect vibration, and the performance of the probe does not deteriorate. As a large space 207 can be made between electrodes 203, 204, a high-density array can be formed. This can be applied to various kinds of probes.
