Abstract:

To make a shift knob which can be universally fit to any type of shafts of shift levers of various manufacturers irrespective of different specification.

This shift knob has an outer shape with which a shaft can be inserted with play so as to allow rotation of the shaft as well as a shaft insertion hole for inserting a shaft having a circular or square cross section at the center part. This knob is equipped with a shaft adaptor formed with screw holes which can be aligned with corresponding screw holes of a body at different heights on an outer surface. The shaft adaptor is inserted into the shaft having a circular or square cross section at the insertion hole and the screw holes of this adaptor are aligned with the screw holes provided on the shaft. The shaft adaptor under this state is capped with the shift knob 1 at its fitting hole 3 and the knob 1 integral with the adaptor is screwed to the shaft with a circular or square cross section by aligning screw holes 4 to 6 of the knob 1 and the adaptor.
