Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an unmanned traveling device designed to deal with the following measures: to counter e.g. a lawn mower's being off course which might occur in the case that such a machine is a perfectly unmanned one; to counter unexpected obstacles; to counter variation in load conditions; and to address leaving off (completing) a work; etc.
CONSTITUTION: In this unmanned traveling device 1 designed to automatically travel in an unmanned state on a course set in advance by detecting objects embedded underground by sensors 6a, 6b set up on an unmanned traveling vehicle, when these sensors 6a, 6b do not detect a guide for a specified time or longer, the unmanned traveling vehicle is made to retreat for a specified time; during this time period, if the sensors do not detect the guide, the unmanned traveling vehicle is forced to halt.
