Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a urethane foam acting to human body to relieve the fatigue and refresh the body and the mind and useful for mattress, pillow, etc., by including an extract of a Chinese herb drug in a urethane foam. CONSTITUTION:A polyol and an isocyanate are used as main raw materials and mixed with water, catalyst and an extract of one or more kinds of Chinese herb drugs (prepared by putting 1 pt.wt. of Chinese herb drug to 20 pts.wt. of water, heating over a slow fire at 100 deg.C for 30-50min to extract the component of the herb and filtering the product) and the mixture is stirred to obtain the objective urethane foam. The Chinese herb drug extract is attached to the wall of numberless cells formed by the foaming of the urethane foam. When the urethane foam is used as a bedding, the Chinese herb drug extract attached to the cell wall is permeated through the skin to relieve the fatigue and refresh the body and the mind. A food can be preserved in a fresh state over a long period by using the urethane foam as a food-preservation vessel.
