PURPOSE: To display a selection between APS and AMS on an image recorder in an easy-to-see state.

CONSTITUTION: A console panel A is provided with the column of fixed magnifications including the AMS and the column of form selections including the APS. Unmagnification and the APS are set as defaults, so they are arranged at the lowest stages in the respective fields. The user interface (U150) judges that the AMS is not selected if the time of a stay at the position of the AMS is ≤1.2sec when a fixed magnification button 43A is operated in the default state and the position of the AMS passes through it, but judges that the AMS is selected when the time of the stay is >1.2sec, thereby selecting a preferential tray by resetting the APS for a form selection. When a tray selection button 42 is selected and set at the position of the APS while the AMS is selected, the U150 judges immediately that the APS is selected. As for magnifications, the AMS is reset and predetermined magnifications are selected, and a corresponding LED is made to illuminate.
