Title:
VACUUM CASTING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3188195
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the development of trouble caused by invasion of gas into molten steel and to improve the quality by arranging a mold in a vacuum evacuating vessel, laying the lower end of a lower nozzle in a ladle slide gate onto a molten metal pouring hole of an upper cover in the vessel under condition of shutting off the air and pouring the molten steel, at the time of casting a steel casting by using degassing steel.
SOLUTION: The pouring hole 122 projected upward and having a flange 124, is arranged on the upper cover 12 of the vacuum vessel, and a vacuum gasket 125 is arranged on the upper surface of the flange 124. In this pouring hole 122, a cylindrical molten steel pouring nozzle 5 is concenrically arranged with the pouring hole so as to press the vacuum gasket 125 at the lower surface of the flange 51 projected in the radial direction from the upper end part, and hung down so as to face to the sprue 133 in the mold 13. The upper end opening hole of the molten steel pouring nozzle 5 is closed with an aluminum vacuum shut-off plate 54 for melting down at the time of starting the pouring the molten steel. Further, in the lower nozzle 41 of the slide gate of the ladle 2, a nozzle holder 42 is arranged and at the time of casting, the flange surface at the lower end part is laid on a fire-proof seal 55 of the molten steel pouring nozzle 5.
