Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make an engine small and compact, by arranging a cam shaft such that it is biased from the axes of push rods toward a crank shaft. CONSTITUTION:The cam shaft 20 coactive with the crank shaft 4 is arranged on one side of a cylinder, and a follower shaft 25 arranged between the cam shaft 20 and the cylinder 1 bears rocker followers 26, 27 that extend away from the cylinder 1 to engage with the cam shaft 20. The push rods 30 connected the rocker followers 26, 27 respectively with rocker arms 33, 34 that are pivoted on the cylinder head and coact with a suction valve or an exhaust valve.
