Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a variable attenuation type optical fiber coupling for connecting two fibers fixed to a connector in a relation so that their edges are connected with each other.
CONSTITUTION: The end face of each fiber makes a certain angle with each fiber axial line. This is a coupling member suited for housing a connector 31. Each connector 31 is provided with a key 37 for positioning, and the coupling member is provided with a key groove 27 for housing each connector key. The key 37 provided at at least one connector 31 and the corresponding key groove 27 are rotationally positioned for a fiber end face, and the exactly adjusted center deviation amounts of the end face against the other fiber end face are obtained.
