To solve a problem that a head lamp does not completely become suitable for an illumination of a road and a visual recognition at the time of traveling on a curved road is reduced since a light distribution characteristic set for a straight advancing is turned at a curved road in a conventional variable light distribution head lamp.
According to the present invention, in the variable light distribution head lamp 1, a head lamp body is divided to a first head lamp body 2A made to a light distribution characteristic having at least a lower light distribution pattern part Dd; and a second head lamp body 2B made to a light distribution characteristic having at least an upper light distribution pattern part Du. A turning based on an operation amount of a steering device is carried out as: 0 ≤ the first head lamp body 2A < the second head lamp body 2B at at least one part of a turning range. Therefore, the light distribution pattern is made to a shape adapted for a purpose not only at the time of straight advancing of a vehicle but also at the time of turning to solve a problem.
