Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a turning moment even if a ship is in navigation at low speed or in stop by installing a control means for setting the blade angle between the opposed blades each other into the opposite angle in an equal inclination when each of the variable-pitch propeller blades is positioned on the right or the left broadside. CONSTITUTION:When a hull is in straight advance/retreat state, also each opening degree of the valves 151-154 is equal. Therefore, the amount of the oil supplied from a pump 14 is equal, and the transfer amount of the pistons 111-114 of the cylinders 101-104 is made equal, and the pitch of the propeller blades 41-44 is at equal inclination. When the hull is turned rightward or leftward, the propeller blades 41 and 43 are inclined by an equal amount in the opposite directions each other by operating the pistons 111 and 113 interlocked with two opposed propeller blades 41 and 43. Other propeller blades 42 and 44 are kept in unchanged state. Therefore, when propeller blades 41-44 are revolved, a lateral force is generated on the propeller, and the hull can be turned rightward or leftward.
