Abstract:

PURPOSE: To have always proper air-to-fuel ratio by furnishing a piston projecting at a venturi part, which is elevated and sunk through the action of a diaphragm in compliance with the neg. pressure of said venturi part, and by controlling an injector etc. upon sensing the rate of suction flow from the protruding amount of the piston.

CONSTITUTION: Between an air cleaner 44 of suction passage 8 and the engine E, a suction flow meter F, which includes a piston 10 to adjust the venturi area A of venturi part 56, is installed in such a way as facing the venturi part 56. This piston 10 is in connection with a diaphragm 12 of a differential-pressure- linked-working device 11, and one end of a suction pressure sensing pipe 10a penertrating the piston 10 shall be open in this diaphragm chamber. The diaphragm 12 is pressed downward by a spring 15 and connected with a potentiometer PM as sensor for the rate of flow. The output signal of this PM is sent to an engine control means 28, wherefrom a control signal is sent to the injector 9 for adjustment of the air-to-fuel ratio.
