Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vascular endothelium function examination instrument capable of easily obtaining a consistent quality of examination result while reducing the burden of the subject and the examiner.SOLUTION: The vascular endothelium function examination instrument comprises: an image generation unit for generating blood vessel images indicating the structure of a vascular proximal wall and of a vascular distal wall comprising an intima, a media, and an adventitia, based on reflections detected by an ultrasound probe; a boundary identification unit for identifying a lumen-intima boundary, an intima-media boundary, and a media-adventitia boundary in each of the vascular proximal wall and the vascular distal wall, based on the blood vessel images; a blood vessel diameter measurement unit for measuring a blood vessel diameter using a plurality of combinations among combinations of boundaries in the vascular proximal wall and in the vascular distal wall; an examination unit for examining the vascular endothelial function, based on the blood vessel diameters before and after avascularization; and an output control unit for causing the output unit to output the examination result of the examination unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
